Boy the sun is out today it is only 56 degrees but it feels like spring. The gutters are cleaned and I have been raking leaves all morning ( where are all the golfers?) It is going to be a beautiful day looks like the last one for the week.
We have been working on some new Ideas for our golf members, if you haven't got your 2012 membership now is a good time to get it you will get unlimited golf in 2012 and save off of the 2011 price. The savings only last until December 31st so you better hurry. Don't forget Your favorite golfer for Christmas we do have gift certificates available for all occasions.

Boy is it cold today the quys are out mowing the fairways and roughs for the last time this season. I can't believe that the end is near (but it sure feels like it could snow today).
We do have a couple of campers coming in this weekend I am going to miss everyone. The season sure felt like it flew by it is all a blurr. It seems like we just opened and now we are getting ready to close.
We still have some beer and wine left so stop on out and say Hi it is happy hour all day from now on.
Just a quick reminder to all our seasonl camper your winter storage and deposit for 2012 is due by November 1st to hold your spot for next year. And don't forget that we have qift certificates available for your favorite golfer for Christmas. Get $60 to $90 discount on your 2012 membership before December 31, 2011.

Well the Chili Cook-off went well. Thanks to everyone who brought chili and to those of you who brought the crackers and cheese and the deviled eggs, everything was very good.
The weather man got it wrong again today, the station that I watched said rain around 8pm tonight well it is 10am and it has been raining for 1/2 an hour.

I think that the rain has finally stopped the sun is trying to come out! It is going to be a great weekend. The campers have started to arrive we have quite a few coming in for the weekend and I hope they brought all their chilli fixings I can't wait to try all the different kinds, I better not eat any dinner tonight or breakfast tomarrow so I will have room.

Well the end of the season is getting closer and I for one am not ready for the cold or the snow.
The Chili Cook off is on Saturday at 4:30 I am looking forward to trying as many as I can, so don't forget to get your best recipe made and come join in the fun.

We got the gazboo floor repainted today so it will be ready for Spring.

It is a little cloudy today but it is still nice out.

The nice days are winding down there are not many left I for one am not ready for snow.

The colors on the course are beautiful the burning bushes are my favorite they are the prettiest shade of red this year.

What a beautiful weekend the course is in great shape and the weather was perfect. We were busy with all the golfers and the campers had their Holloween activities and the kids got to go trick or theating all the kids I talked to said they got tons of candy and they all had fun.

We are in for some great weather even for today (mid 70's) maybe I can finish painting the gazboo today.

The forecast for the rest of the week is BEAUTIFUL I think this might just be our last nice week.

The course is in great shape except for the few spots that the skunks and raccoon have tore up the sod looking for grubs, so grabs those clubs and enjoy the rest of the week.

We have Holloween in the campground this weekend with the kids activities starting at 4:00pm and trick or treating at 6:00pm

Well the weather is better today. The campers played their backward 9 scramble yesterday and they had fun but not very many showed up because it was windy and cold. Maybe next year the weather will be better. It would be perfect out today if the wind would stop blowing.
Tomarrow is 2 for 1 greenfees so get those clubs out of the garage and stop on out for a quick round the weather is going to be alot better. Don't forget to stop in for a burger or hot dog when your done

Well the weatherman got it wrong again he said rain for today. Guess what no rain the sun is shinning and we do have some clouds but it is still nice out. You still have time to come on out and play 18 holes and you can have the course to yourself because there is no one here but the crew. I can't believe that everyone is wasting such a beautiful day the trees are starting to turn and the mums are in full bloom so grab those clubes and come check it out

Summer is almost over

Well it has been a busy summer around here with all the scrambles. The weather might be getting a little cooler but there is still alot of great golfing weather to come so don't put those clubs away yet. Come on out and enjoy some of the best weather of the season and enjoy the beautiful fall colors.

The campers have also been busy with many great events including a soup cook-off, fishing derby, horseshoe tournaments and a Hawaiian Luau. The fun is not over yet we still have 6 weeks left.

Come out and Join us for the Backwards Nine Golf Tournament on October 1st and see the course from a whole new perspective. Halloween weekend is October 8th bring the Kids costumes and treats for trick or treating, and to wrap up the season don't forget about the chili cook-off, bring a pot of your favorite chili for a chance to win a prize

Well the weather today sure doesn't look like the start to summer it feels more like fall, but the weather man said it will be better and warmer for the rest of the weekend. We have been very busy this week between rain drops getting all the flowers planted and the grass mowed.
We even came up with a new special since the spring weather has been soooo bad we will now have HAPPY HOUR in the Tavern whenever it is raining so come join us.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday, the breeze was cool but the sun was shinning. We did get the back nine back open to carts yesterday it is still a little wet but with any luck and no more rain! maybe it will finish drying out. Well the snow is flying again this morning and it is still very cold. I hope that it starts to warm up soon. I can't wait to open the Tavern and get everything started. We have added a couple of new things in the Tavern. We now have a 50 inch TV for your viewing pleasure and we got an ice machine for the bar( I am so excited).

Well I am ready for spring this snow is getting old! We are getting tired of setting around watching all the Deer run across the course I have seen more deer in the last 2 week than I saw all of last year, not to mention the squirrels they are everywhere. We found a stray cat last week it tried to get in the office everytime I opened the door, but we found him a nice home with one of the golfers that came over to get their membership. Other than that we don't have much going on but it is giving us lots of time to think of ideas for spring.

Well it has been kind of quiet here the last week, the weather hasn't been very good. Today isn't bad it is warm but damp and cloudy. We do have a few die hards today because it looks like the rest of the week will be terrible with temps only in the lower 40's and more rain and some snow. I just wanted to remind everyone that you can still get your christmas gift certificates or your 2011 membership just by calling I will be happy to meet you here.

Well the fog has finally lifted and the sun is out. Not too many golfers yet, but it should be a nice day . Yesterday was GREAT it was almost 70 degrees, there will not be too many more of those days the snow will be flying soon so pick up those clubs and get in another round while you still can.

The weather for the rest if this week does not look very nice but next week the temps are going to be back into the 50's. So don't go putting away those golf clubs yet we still have a few nice golfing day's left. We would like to see all our friends at least one more time before the snow flies.

Yesterday it was 30 degree's in the morning when I got here today it was 51 and the sun is shinning. We don't have to many golfers today so far and they are calling for rain later. Well its a little cool and cloudy so there is not much going on today. The temp is only going to be about 60 degrees according to the news but the sun is trying to peek out. I guess we will spend the day raking leaves and putting away some of the extra picnic tables in the pavilion. I just can't beleive that summer is gone and we are half way to winter.
Tomarrow is the Backwards 9 Scramble I hope that everyone is signed up to play it sounds like alot of fun. The Soup Cook Off follows at 4:00pm. The first prize for the Cook off is a $25.00 gift to Bryans market and the Second place is $10.00. I can't wait!

Well after a cool start to the day it sure has turned out nice.
It is still a little cool but the sun is out and we finally got to 60 degree's.
It looks like we are in for a great weekend with temps in the 70's, which is great news for the campers. Just to remind everyone we have our Halloween activities on Saturday 10/9/10. I can't wait to see how all the kids will dress.
Then on Saturday 10/16/10 we have the Soup Cook Off at 4:30 pm ( We never starve around here).
The campers are organizing a backwards 9 golf tournament on Saturday 10/16/10 RAIN, SHINE, or SNOW( I'm not ready for snow). If you would like to play be sure that you sign up in the pro-shop by 10/15/10.

Where is everyone today the weather is perfect? ( we problay won't see many more days like today) The sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky. We sure don't have many people on the course today but its early. Maybe they will all come this afternoon.
We have some special events comming up for the Labor Day weekend with the horseshoe tournament and the annual blues cruise.
If you haven't seen the Blues Cruise you should make sure that you stop by to see how everyone decorates their tanks (turd tanks) for the parade, it sure is alot of fun.
Don't forget about our Glow Ball tournament on September 11th. be sure that you sign up today we only have room for 36 people

The Junior Golf Program wrapped up on Wedensday (We had 50 kids for Fun Day).
The kids had a putting , longest drive and chipping contest. We wrapped up the day with prizes for the 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners from both sessions, and a pizza party and everyone took home a goddie bag. I hope that everyone will return next year.

In other news we still have a couple of scrambles comming up and everyone is invited to play!

WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO

Well here we are at the end of July already! Where did the summer go? It's half over. The course is in great shape. I hope that everyone gets a chance to get a few more rounds before the wet rainy season hits in October.
The Christmas in July event went pretty well with the campers not as many decorated their sites this year but we had about 45 kids for the snowball fight.
This weekend is the 10th Annual Jason Swain Memorial Golf Outing there is still time to sign up. The Wheelin Team 457 is having their outing on August 7th.
Don't forget the Club Championship Starting on August 16th. Maybe you can be the 2010 Club Champion. Call the club house for details.
The campers are planning a few more events for this year with a Fishing Derby on August 21st, and Horseshoe Tournament on Sept 4th followed by the 3rd Annual Blues Cruise( don't forget to decorate your blue tank and join in the parade), with voting and prizes for the winners.

I wonder if the sun is going to come out today? We got a little sprinkle this morning but not even enough to get the ground wet. I guess that must have scared everyone off today.
Junior Golf resumes this week and I hope that I will have the rest of their shirts (hopefully they come in today and I can get them printed tonight) if not I will have them by next week.
The campground if full this weekend. There are ball tournaments in town, and the Christmas in July is saturday, that should be fun I have to make sure that I remember to bring over some decorations for the office and the pro shop.

We had a great time for the Veterans Day.
This year we had about 75 people (maybe next year we can get 100).
Everyone had fun including me what a great bunch of guys.
I got the chance to talk to some of the guys this year and learned what an impact this event has had for some of the guys, like Tom Edwards from Almont. He told me that his friend David Hoffman from Elba (who he worked with at the Ford Proving Grounds) have been comming to Vet's Day every year and they met Michael Atwell who was by himself and the 3 have been playing together ever since. What a great way to make some new friends.
The County Press did a nice story with some very nice pictures. I am going to frame them and put them up in the pro shop. If you get a chance stop by and see them.

What a great weekend we had for the 4th on July the weather was a little warm but no rain.
The campground was full and we had some great events the Band (Three for a Buck and some Change ) were great and I hope everyone had a good time ( I think they did by the number of people that I saw in the pavilion). The fireworks were pretty good too. I hope the band will join us again some time.

We have our 5th annual VETERANS DAY comming up on Wedensday July 14th 2010 with FREE GOLF for all men and women from any branch of the military past or present. Come out and join us for a fun filled day bring your military friends and maybe make some new ones.

The Club Championship is comming up August 28th & 29th, and we still have some openings for the upcomming scramble on July 31st (Jason Swain Memoria Golf outing) August 7th ( Wheelin Team 457) and August 21st ( Rod Blumerich Scholorship fund). Hope to see you for one of these events

I can't believe that the 4th of July is already here.
We have some special events for the campers this weekend
There is the horseshoe tournament on Saturday July 3rd which is open to everyone there is a $1.00 entry fee, draw for partners, and double elimination. There will also be a raffle.
From 8:00pm to 10:00pm in the pavilion jion THREE FOR A BUCK AND SOME CHANGE for some live music and dancing. The party does not stop there at 10:15 you can move to the lake for the fireworks( provided by some of the seasonal campers) bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and enjoy the show

Well the burgers went over so well that we added Shrimp to the menu this week if you get a chance stop by and try some.
We now have propane tanks for exchange. You can bring in your old empty tank and get a full tank.

School is almost out and the Jr Golf program will be starting soon. We hope to see all our young golfers to return.

What a great weekend the weather has been very good for this time of year
Friday was beautiful, Saturday was a little cold and wet after 4:00pm the temp only dropped 20 degrees (only in Michigan)but I guess that is what we Michiganders expect for this time of year.
If you haven't signed up for your league yet we still have some openings for the men's teams and Ladies we could use some of you too!
The North Branch Athletic Boosters' 10th Annual Golf Scramble is comming up fast, May 15th is just around the corner its the first scramble of the year at Washakie the entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, Continental Breakfast, Hot dogs / Kielbasa at the turn and cash prizes. You can get you entry form at the Club house. And all the proceeds benifit the North Branch Golf Program.

We are finally open! ( weather permitting) It has been a long winter and we are looking forward to a great summer season. I can't wait to see all of the returning customers both campers and golfers. And We would love to meet some new Friends.
Our Leagues are now forming and will be starting soon. I hope that everyone has signed up if you didn't we still have some room for you. There are Men's, Ladies, and Couples leagues. What a great way to have some fun relax and make new friends.
